Wham! the musical
IT seems turning a bunch of hit songs into a musical is catching on big time.
Maybe because producers realise it (usually) means big box office bucks.
We had Abba songs turned into Mamma Mia!, Queen tracks forming We Will Rock Yo and in Britain, Rod Stewart songs becoming Tonight's the Night.
Now there are plans to make Wham - the Musical. George Michael has revealed he and fellow Wham member Andrew Ridgeley have been looking at offers from producers.
"Two or three different producers have approached Andrew and I about this and I'm a bit torn," Michael says.
"I absolutely hate the idea on a creative level. But on another level, I know that a certain generation of people would love it."
But he admitted it would be hard to watch his hit songs being reproduced on stage.
"The truth is that done on stage there will be no charm and you'll be left with a lot of cheese, so I'm torn.
"Am I being too much of a snob? I would literally have to avoid the premiere."
